Day 4 on the farm. NO SCRAPING OR PAINTING! Well, there was a little, but more on that later. We started off strong by loading the pickup with scrap metal. I picked up a roll of rusty, woven wire and proceeded to give Beck a small head wound. (See pic below). She took a couple of great before/after pics of the metal shed/repository. Took the load to the recycling center.
Our big project of the day was attacking the mower shed. Dad needed a place to store his riding mower so he converted an old hog shed into a place to put the mower. He added a sliding door and a ramp so he could drive it up into the shed. Since we have his pickup now, there’s plenty of space in the garage for the mower. The shed was wedged in between the apple tree and the old chicken/farrowing house. We were able to hook onto it and pull it out where it was easier to tear it down. We ran out of batteries for the saw, so we’ll finish the teardown tomorrow. Lots of pics and videos below.
We finished off the day with riding mower lessons for Beck. The weeds have done very well over the past 2 months since we were down. I opened up the area and Beck finished the mowing. While she was mowing, I went out to the end of the driveway to scrape and paint the the rural water meter/address post. I like scraping projects that take less than 10 minutes.
