I worked on the King Kutter mower and installed a new shear pin. After consulting numerous experts (YouTube!), I decided to go with a higher grade bolt for the shear pin. I even brought my grease gun and got the rear wheel loaded up so that it would turn better and not tear up the grass. I took my before pictures of the two lots I was going to mow first. Got on the tractor and slowly started the mower. The good news was the pin didn’t shear. The bad news can be heard in the six second video below. I would have shot a longer video, but I was afraid something was going to fly off. The 4 bolts holding the gear box are now loose and I’m not sure what has happened, but it was obvious I was not going to get to mow today. I took a couple of before pictures, but there are no after since I couldn’t mow.
Spent the rest of the morning with the string trimmer cleaning up around where the big barn used to be. Mom made lunch and we went out and picked some rhubarb for Mom and our friend Janice.
The yard looked so good I decided to do my annual walk-around video. It’s a little over 5 minutes long because I wanted to get some shots of where the old garage used to set from the front yard of the house. Be sure to turn up the sound so you can hear all of the wild life.
It was a beautiful morning!
