I learned today why there were days my dad used “colorful” language on the farm… Left off yesterday needing to get a new shear pin for the rotary mower. Picked up two yesterday on the way home looking forward to getting the mowing done first thing this morning. Put in the bolt, tightened it down and headed out to mow. Turned on the mower and sheared the new pin. !!$$@@!! The blades spin fine – gear box is fine. Had other things to get to, so will have to wait to try and figure out the problem later.
Moved all the equipment away from the garage and then took the last load to recycling. Beck and I worked on the inside of the garage and pulled out all the boards Dad added to keep the hogs from going through the siding. Went around outside and stripped off any extra boards that have been added over the years. Looks a little worse for wear. Dad added about 7 railroad ties inside to help keep the building up. It will be interesting to see how sturdy it is once we take off the siding. Big day is tomorrow. I’m hoping to set up a stop-action camera to record the process as we take her down.
