Flying, Trimming & Fixing

We all spent the afternoon of the 4th out at the farm. I got a 3 or 4 nice flights with the drone. Getting more comfortable flying it around the farm.

Today was the last day on the farm for this trip. Actually, just 1/2 a day. Too hot! Beck finished up trimming around the orchard and behind the farrowing house. I picked out some of the old garage boards for Logan to hopefully build a door for his new upstairs half-bath door.

Mom asked us if we could fix the front of the machine shed in how it looked. My grandpa built this in the 40’s out of some recovered lumber as well as new boards. The problem is the foundation has shifted over the years and the whole building is leaning to the north and east. We put a post in the southeast corner of the building a few years ago, but it’s leaning more now. The leaning has caused a pretty big gap on the west side and Mom said she sees it every time she drove in. I raised the corner about 1 1/2 inches and just planned to move the sliding doors over to cover the gap. The problem is I didn’t have enough door to cover the entire width. Went to the old garage board stash, found a nice board, painted it white and nailed it in the center of the two doors. It looked pretty good to us and it met with Mom’s approval. We finished up by installed a tool holder in the garage to manage the pile that had been building up over the past couple of years. That’s all for now.

See you next trip!
