The elm saplings have been an ongoing issue for a few years, but we’ve gotten smarter in dealing with them. We picked up some Tardon to kill the roots after we cut them off. We cleaned up around where the old big barn used to be and then in one of the lots. We got 2 out of 3 cattle feed bunks pulled up and out to the burn pile. The one next to the barn is buried in weeds so will hook on to it with the tractor and pull it out tomorrow. The fun for the day was hooking on to a huge branch that had blown down during the big August storm last year. We started a new burn pile with it as the base. Becky found the first snake of the year and skillfully picked it up with a stick and threw it across the road. I discovered that I have a long way to go to get back in shape. We hit the wall about mid-afternoon. Stopped for a shake on the way back to the townhouse to finish off the day. Tomorrow is another day!
