Day 4 on the farm. Nothing ever goes as planned. We were headed down this morning and got a check engine light on the pickup truck. Stopped at a dealership and found out there was a bad sensor wire from the gas tank. Also had a frozen brake caliper so we needed to leave it for service. No tractor tire yet and no pickup meant no hauling for the day. We decided to take down a small addition my grandpa put on the chicken house so my grandma had a place to store her chicken feed. I hadn’t looked in it in years. There was some junk but a couple of treasures. I’m holding the “brains” of the cattle scales my grandpa built in the 1940’s. The counter weights were still attached. There was also a coal bucket and a small oil burning stove along with the tricycle. The good news is Beck and I took it down without any permanent injuries. Looks like rain all day tomorrow so we may have a day off. New tractor tires will probably be Wednesday.
