Apple Picking, Weed Pulling & Drone Shots

We’re back on the farm! This trip has been a cake-walk compared to other visits. Beck and I picked some apples for Mom from two trees my grandparents planted over 80 years ago. I have a map my grandpa drew of all the fruit trees he planted – I just can’t figure out for sure which way is which on the map.

We (Beck) did some weed pulling and mowing. I did some trimming and found some boards to prop up the branches of the apple tree in the front yard. These apples won’t be ready until fall, but the branches were already almost on the ground.

The weeds have officially taken over the cattle lot east of the corn crib. I’m hoping this is the last year this happens. They look to be at least 10 feet tall now and are still growing.

Had a little bit of time to get the drone up in the air. I was up about 300 feet and got a message that there was high winds and it was possible that the drone could be blown out of range. I brought it down to about 150 feet and was able to get a few shots.

We got over to visit Gary and Lavonne this evening. Had an amazing dinner and was so much fun to catch up with them for a couple of hours.

We’re heading to the Des Moines Farmer’s Market in the morning and getting together with family tomorrow night.
